checking in

A quick note to let people know I've arrived safe and sound. Met Andrew at the airport without a hitch. Spent the day in Paris seeing the Eiffel Tower and walking the city.

The plan for The Louvre tomorrow has been changed as it is closed on Tuesdays. Hooray. So Plan B will be decided on in the morning.

I am exhausted and need some sleep. It has been a long two days. I'll check in again from Belguim which we travel to by train tomorrow.

the basics

European Locations for Domination:

Paris, France
Brussels, Belgium
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Berlin, Germany
Prague, Czech Republic

Meeting up with Z in Paris on Monday morning the 31st of March. He's taking a train from London early in the AM to meet me in Paris by 10am local time. What a pal. A quick overnight stay while seeing The Louvre and the Eiffel Tower then off to Brussels by train (Eurail). I'll go back and do Paris right when (if) I get married.

And I noticed today that I have the most odd way of packing. I'm not sure if anyone else utilizes this method. I'll call it the Ipecac method. Essentially I throw-up everything I need onto my bed, spread out taking up the whole space. I then categorize and pull from this mess and pack accordingly. It is effective for 2 reasons (1) it keeps everything visible so I can see what I am missing or what I have too many of (2) it renders my bed utterly useless, forcing me to pack before I can go to bed. Genius I tell ya.

T-minus 18 hours to departure.

welcome

Historically, I have been one to update people via emails or whatnot and have not had any experience with blogging. I took a little inspiration from my roommate's blog he has been keeping while traveling in Europe and started one of my own.

In reality, I am keeping this moreso as a journal for myself - to look back on after some time and remember things that have slipped my mind over the years. But I will make it available so friends and family can check in if they'd like and get the latest.

Not sure how I will do with this but I am going to give it a go. This will be a place I hope to keep posting to even after I return from Europe - which was my initial motivation.

So bear with me as I learn how this thing works and how creative I can get with it.

Here's to safe travels and good times.
